Action Requested
Approve, by motion, the hiring of Graham Schultz to the position of code enforcement officer effective July 11,
2022.
Background/Discussion
Our former code enforcement officer was promoted to building inspector. We went to market to fill the vacancy
and received 35 applications. We interviewed eight candidates and had second interviews with three finalists. After
a successful background check, we recommend Graham Schultz for the position.
Mr. Schultz has a degree in law enforcement and worked for the Carver County Sheriff’s Office for more than
seven years. Five of those years were as a community service officer which included performing code enforcement
in various communities in Carver County. In 2021, he left law enforcement and began working as a service pro for
Aptive Environmental Service.
Mr. Schultz will start at step A of pay grade 3N. All pay and benefits will be consistent with city policy.
