Dear Pat:
Per your request I sought approval from the School Board to cost share with the City of
Elk River a signal light at the entrance to Elk River High School parking lot on School
Street. My request was approved. I passed on the following information to the Board:
the amount would be approximately $150,000 with fifty (50) percent to be paid by the
school district, payment to be spread over a five-year time period with annual payment in
arrears from the District to the City spread in equal payments, the initial costs to be paid
in advance by the City.
I do understand that the cost of the installation and equipment may be fluid at this time
and may be more or less depending on you being able to obtain final pricing. If the cost
is significantly higher please let me know as soon as you are able to make that
determination. Let me know if you need further clarification. Thanks for the opportunity
to work with you and the City. I appreciate efforts on behalf of all of the community.
