Approve, byT motion, attached quotation for installing a valve on the High`vayT 169 force main.
Background/Discussion
As a follow-up to the June 16`i' wastewater callout for water coming out of the valve pit at the Highway 169 lift
station, we have identified the need to install valves on the three force mains that feed the wastewater treatment
facilityT.
The quote is foY the first of the three valves that are needed. The Highwayr169 foYce main is a priorityr since we will
need to isolate this line in 2023 for planned modifications as paYt of the 969 Bedefine pYoject. Due to the laYge pipe
diameter, there is on1yT one manufacturer of the valve required and veryT limited companies who can complete the
installation. Brenteson Companies will act as our general contractor for the excavation with the support of
Municipal Pipe Services who will cut in the new valve.
The valves on the other t�vo foYce mains feeding the plant will be added to the CIP to complete next year.
Financial Impact
The cost of the valve installation is $50,930.00 and will come from our Trunk UtilityT Fund.

We hereby propose to furnish the material and perform the labor necessary for compleiion of ihe project as follows:
Inclusions:
• Mobilization
• Excavate and expose existing 14" force main for valve insertion
• Insert valve.
• Pour concrete up to half the pipe diameter.
• Backfill with onsite material.
Exclusions: Hauling of trees or brush; hidden and buried debris; disposal of material with debris; soil correction;
Sheeting, Shoring, Bracing, Etc.; insulation; traffic control; handling or testing of contaminated soil; soil
conditioning; importing soil; exporting soil; soil correction in paved areas; soil testing; Class 5; Paving;
dewatering; treating discharge waters; tree protection fence; maintain or repair erosion control; sweeping; soil
beds for landscaping; lawn restoration; SWPPP Inspections; temporary erosion control; additional erosion control,
required by any governing authority, that is not shown on the plans; concrete wash out; damage to public or
private utilities, eXcept those correctly marked by Gopher State One Call; locating private utilities; cleaning up
garbage/debris from other contractors; snow removal; winter conditions; Spring Road Restrictions; pipe bedding;
SAGWAC; Permits; Bond and all other items not specifically included in the Inclusions above.
All material will be provided, and work performed in accordance with the drawings and specifications submitted
for above work and completed in a substantial workman-like manner for the sum of:
Brenteson Companies: $ 14,630.00
Municipal Pipe Services: $ 36,300.00
Total Bid: $ 50,930.00

This Proposal is valid for no longer than 30 days from the date prepared and noted above.
� Fuel Surcharge will be applied to all tPucking invoiced at the rate of I% for every $010 increase above $3. 50 per

This Proposal shall become part of any Contract, as an Exhibit. Any alteration or deviation from above specifications involving eXtra
cost will be executed only upon written orders and will be an extra charge over and above the estimate. All Agreements are contingent
upon strikes, accidents, or delays beyond our control. Owner is to carry fire, tornado and all other necessary insurance naming Brenteson
Companies, Inc. as an additional insured. Warkman's Compensations and Public Liability Insurance on above wark is to be taken out by
Brenteson Companies, Inc.
