Authorize, byT motion, staff to start the design process �vith Macqueen Equipment for a new replacement aerial
firetruck to be purchased foY the Fire DepaYtment.
Background/Discussion
Information was presented to Council at a work session on July 18 regarding the Elk River Fire Department's
current aerial truck.
The National Fire Protection Associations standard on replacement of fire apparatus recommends "that
manufactured apparatus that `vas not manufactured to the applicable NFPA fire apparatus standards or that is
over 25 years old should be Yeplaced."
The department's aerial apparatus is currentlyT over 32 yTears old and in need of replacement.
