Action Requested
Approve, by motion, the hiring of Starr Sorheim to the position of Senior Communications Coordinator
effective September 12, 2022.
Background/Discussion
Staff went to market to fill the vacant Senior Communications Coordinator position. We received 19 applications
and interviewed five candidates. Second interviews were conducted with two candidates and following background
and reference checks, we recommend Starr Sorheim for this position.
Ms. Sorheim holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and has been the communications director for Resurrection
Lutheran Church in Monticello for five years. She will start at step A of pay grade 7E. All pay and benefits will be
consistent with city policy.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
