Action Requested
Approve, by motion, the hiring of Jeffrey Shelby to the position of assistant facility supervisor effective
September 12, 2022.
Background/Discussion
One of the assistant facility supervisor positions has been vacant since April. We went to market to fill this
position and received 20 applications. We interviewed four candidates in May and were unsuccessful in finding a
candidate to hire. We interviewed three additional candidates in July and held a second interview with one of
them. Following background and reference checks, we recommend Jeffrey Shelby for the position.
Mr. Shelby worked as the athletics and operations manager at St. Mary’s Academy in Englewood, Colorado from
1999 to 2003. Prior to that, he was the athletic director/youth sports coordinator at Chatfield-Columbine
YMCA in Littleton, Colorado. Most currently Mr. Shelby has owned his own publishing company.
Mr. Shelby will start at step A of pay grade 8E. All pay and benefits will be consistent with city policy.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
