DISCUSSION:
• In October, the locating department had a total of 462 locate tickets consisting of one
emergency ticket, 10 cancellations, 376 normal tickets, and 75 updated tickets. This is a
1.1% decrease in volume of tickets from the previous month.
• Electric Technicians continue with updating the power bill, substation checks,
disconnects, reconnects, dealing with customer meter and off-peak issues, as well as
installing new meters for commercial customers. Staff collected oil samples from all
substation transformers and regulator banks for the yearly testing for dissolved gas
analysis.
• On October 22, staff ran Engines 1, 3 and 4 without any issues. The repair of Engine 2 is
tentatively scheduled for the week of November 18. We will confirm the vendor's
schedule the week before.
• Weekly meter reads continue to go well. Staff continues to perform meter audits
around the system as time allows and has been discovering a number of vegetation
issues blocking access to the meters.These customers will be notified about correcting
the issues.
• Mapping department continues to update points and attributes for all of our systems
assets within the ESRI ArcView GIS system. Power Systems Engineering (PSE) has been
working on our ESRI upgrade along with the disaster recovery backup server build for
GIS. PSE is working directly with city IT staff on this.
• Testing of the Landfill Gas Plant relays for engines 2, 3 and 4 has been completed.The
relay for Engine 2 was replaced with a spare while it is sent back to Scweitzer
Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) for warranty repair.

• Structural Buildings has completed the structure for the West Substation Equipment
Storage Garage.The concrete work, fencing, and insulation have also been completed.
The overhead doors, heating system, and the electrical work should be completed
before Thanksgiving.
