DISCUSSION:
• In October, The Locating department had a total of 418 locate tickets consisting of four
emergency tickets, 13 cancellations, 11 meetings, 333 normal tickets and 47 updated
tickets. This is an 8%decrease in volume of tickets from the previous month.
• Electric Technicians continue with the meter reading,power bill, substation checks,
hanging red-tags, meter read-outs, disconnects, reconnects, dealing with meter and off-
peak issues, as well as delivering and installing new meters to commercial customers.
• Staff collected oil samples from all substation transformers for yearly testing. We still
need to collect samples from 3 regulator banks and then can send in samples for analysis.
• Staff continues to perform meter audits throughout the system. Field and office staffs
have developed a schedule for the multiple billing cycles transition. Metering department
staff will begin reprogramming demand meters that are not presently subject to demand
rates over the next month.
• The power plant staff did the monthly engine run on October 27. All engines ran well
with no problems.Notes were taken on what maintenance and repair needs staff will
work on over the winter months.
• Mapping department continues to enter GPS points and attribute points for all of our
systems assets within the ESRI ArcView GIS system. The locators will get in-house
training on how to GPS points as soon as locate requests slow down.
• The Engineer has gotten involved with learning our metering software and has made
great progress on the MV-90 software as well as familiarizing himself with our electrical
facilities. To date,the Engineer has had limited involvement with the field services
expansion plans,which I anticipate will increase as we move forward with the project.
