A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River Supporting Regional
Trail Designation Application for Great Northern Trail in Greater
Minnesota:
Trail name: The Great Northern Trail
Location: Sherburne and Mille Lacs Counties Date of Resolution: September 12, 2022
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River, as a joint applicant/partner, fully supports the
application described' the Request for Designation as a Regional Trail in Greater Minnesota and
authorizes the applicant's submission on half of the partnership.
WHEREAS, as a joint applicant/partner we are fully aware of the information provided in
the application and associated responsibilities, including long-term commitments as defined
in the application and related master plan and supporting information as submitted.
WHEREAS, that the Great Northern Trail receive formal designation as a Regional Trail
in Greater Minnesota by the City Council, that as the joint applicant we have the legal
authority to enter into formal designation and funding agreements with the City Council for
the referenced trail.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk
River, Minnesota, as follows: listed applicant and joint applicant/partner certify they will
comply with all applicable laws and regulations associated with regional designation and any
future grant funding for their respective portions of any project.
