DISCUSSION:
In the last 30 days the level two charger located downtown had 58 sessions and
provided customers with 578 kWh of green energy. The level two charger located in
front of the ERMU office had five sessions and provided customers with 88 kWh. The DC
fast charger at the Coborn's fuel station needs a modem upgrade to allow for
connection to the network. The new modem has arrived and we are waiting for the
work to be dispatched. There was no estimated installation date provided.
• The Elk River Landfill Gas to Electric Facility is no longer generating electricity. The
facility began decommissioning October 31 around 12:30 p.m. ERMU has satisfied the
Sherburne County promissory note and received the $45,000 payment from Waste
Management facilities.
• There are nine active residential solar projects under review or construction in the
ERMU service territory. Staff continues to collaborate with customers interested in a
solar installation on a case by case basis.
• The downtown Elk River trick or treating event was a spectacular success. We made
contact with many families, handed out lots of candy for the kids, and even had the
opportunity to talk with some customers about energy efficiency and electric vehicle
(EV) programs.
• ERMU and city staff will meet with Tri-CAP on November 4 to discuss funding and
resources for housing rehabilitation programs. We will also review marketing materials
for distribution in 2023.
• Staff had the opportunity to participate in a forum on electric vehicles (EVs). The event
was sponsored by Clean Energy Resource Teams, Great River Energy, Minnesota Rural
Electric Association, and Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association. There were 81
participants that attended the virtual session which focused on EV charging strategies,

return on investment, funding opportunities, educating car dealerships, and changes to
the electric industry with a possible 30% growth in some areas.
• ERMU received a very nice thank you note from the Sherburne County Area United Way
for providing energy efficiency kits for their Community Connect event. The kits were
given to qualifying attendees and contained efficiency items including LED bulbs,
window sealing film, shower heads, smart power strips, and caulking. ERMU was one of
37 community partners that supported the event which was a great success, providing
services to 386 individuals.
