1. Call Meeting to Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Heritage Preservation
Commission was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chair Lindberg.
2. Pledge of Allegiance
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
3. Consider July 21, 2022, Agenda
Moved by Commissioner Mauren and seconded by Commissioner Griffiths to
approve the July 21, 2022, agenda.
Motion carried 6-0.
4. Minutes of March 17, 2022, Heritage Preservation Commission
meeting
Moved by Commissioner Griffiths and seconded by Commissioner Hangaard
to approve the March 17, 2022, meeting minutes.
Motion carried 6-0.
5.1 Elk River Documentary
Commissioner Griffiths updated the commission on the Elk River documentary. He
discussed the next steps and the narration assistance that will be required of the
other Commission members. Commissioner Griffiths also stated that he will have a
preview of the documentary available for review during the August 25th HPC booth
at the Elk River Farmer’s Market.

5.2 Orono Cemetery
Mr. Carlton stated that the group operating the Orono Cemetery may require
assistance in continuing operations of the cemetery. Mr. Carlton asked the
Commission if they knew of anyone with a personal connection to the operation and
suggested they reach out if interested in providing assistance to or serving on the
cemetery board.
5.3 HPC Booth at the Farmer’s Market
Mr. Carlton stated that the Commission is all set for August 25th at the Farmer’s
Market. The Commission will have a space for a booth where they can solicit
historical information that residents may want to share. The Commission also
discussed what should be available at the booth. Commissioner Mauren suggested
printing out copies of preview historical articles that the Commission has completed.
Commissioner Griffiths stated that a preview of his documentary will be available for
viewing during the market.
5.4 Additional Projects and Updates
The Commission discussed additional candidates for oral interviews.
6. Adjournment
There being no further business, Chair Lindberg adjourned the meeting of the Elk
River Heritage Preservation Commission at 6:37 p.m.
