Background/Discussion Following requests by developers, the City Council commissioned feasibility studies for the expansion of city utility services to the northeast and northwest abutting areas currently served by municipal water and sewer. ERMU and city staff have reviewed the studies and have developed a proposal for consideration. Since each entity controls specific utility (water and wastewater), a joint meeting of the elected and appointed governing bodies is needed for further direction. The last joint meeting was held in conjunction with a regular meeting of the City Council. Since ERMU is now operating in their new field services facility and expect to have their full allotment of new meeting room chairs, their staff recommends meeting at and touring the new facility. The Commission meets at 3:30 p.m. monthly on Tuesdays. Staff prefers January 10, 2023, but February 14, 2023, may also work to keep the project on a timely schedule.
