The 2022 Elk River High School football team finished the season with an overall record of 13-0 winning the
Minnesota State High School League Class 5A State Championship.

Proclamation
Designating December 20, 2022, as Elk River Football Team 131 Day in
the City of Elk River, Minnesota
WHEREAS, the 2022 Elk River High School Football Team 131 finished the season with an
overall record of 13-0 and won the Minnesota State High School League Class 5A State
Championship; and
WHEREAS, the Elks, under the leadership of head coach Steve Hamilton and his coaching staff,
trained hard each day and mastered the Power-T play to dominate their opponents throughout the
season; and
WHEREAS, the Elks brought tremendous community pride and a very positive image to the City
of Elk River; and
WHEREAS, the Elks displayed honor, sportsmanship, and class on and off the field throughout
the 2022 season, proving to be a credit to their school and their community; and
WHEREAS, the Elk’s hard work, dedication, and exceptional team chemistry make up the unique
Team 131, who fought hard to win the state championship title.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, John J. Dietz, Mayor of the City of Elk
River, hereby recognize and commend Elk River High School Football Team 131 on their
outstanding season culminating in the Class 5A state championship; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that I, John J. Dietz, hereby proclaim December 20, 2022, as
Elk River Football Team 131 Day in the City of Elk River, Minnesota.
