Action Requested
Recognize the 2022 Beautification Program winner with presentation of the award by President Tveite.
Background/Discussion
Following a recommendation from the EDA Beautification Committee, the EDA selected at its November 2022
meeting Three Rivers Montessori as the winner of the 2022 Beautification Award. The award was based on Three
Rivers’ reuse and conversion of a former bank building into a school facility, and their beautification efforts which
included interior, exterior, and landscaping renovations.
In addition to Three Rivers Montessori, two other applications were submitted. The Beautification committee
commended both the Toth Farms barn (on Orono Parkway at Main St.) and Salon on Main for their recent efforts
and will be highlighted on the EDA’s social network platforms in addition to highlighting Three Rivers.

The City Beautification Award recognizes business owners whose efforts to clean, repair, improve and enhance
the overall aesthetics of either the interior or exterior of the business, property and/or space thereby maintaining
the beauty of their neighborhood and surroundings. It is presented to encourage community improvements,
enhance the city’s image and economic vitality.
