DISCUSSION:
• The 2023 Energy Efficient Appliance Rebates and 2023 LED Light Rebate Coupons will be
going out to customers with the December bills. Attached are copies of the two bill
inserts.
• Social media posts for the month cover topics such as the inserts being sent out this
month, the commercial rebate program highlighting a rebate given to Sportech, signing
up for the City's holiday light tour, what to look for when shopping for a space heater,
and more. Announcements included Thanksgiving closure and the commission meeting.
• The featured social media post this month shares how „ERMU sup 1p

indicating that staff was available to accept presents from the community and would
bring them to a drop off location.
• The communications & administrative coordinator attended the APPA Customer
Connections Conference, November 13-16. Staff is glad to report ERMU is already doing
many things well based on information shared by speakers and attendees. Our crisis
communications plan is excellent, and our website received many compliments during
roundtable discussions. The conference also covered new ways to engage with the
community, resources to build creative social media content, and the importance of
diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• The communications & administrative coordinator completed training on Adobe
InDesign, the software we use to create flyers and bill inserts. The training comes from
ed2go.com, an online training solution that offers cost-effective training on the learner's
schedule.
• The executive administrative manager and operations director facilitated a meeting of
the Safety Training workgroup on November 29. The agenda included developing the

2023 training schedule, establishing internally mandatory trainings beyond OSHA
requirements, a training attendance policy, and the workgroup's meeting schedule.
• Kent Myers was here on November 30 to conduct another installment of his Everyday
Leadership training for all staff. This session focused on showing gratitude as well as a
nice recap of the other principles he has presented.
• The executive administrative manager along with customer service and IT staff ran a test
of the website chat feature available through one of the cloud -based phone systems
being tested. The test went well and could potentially offer a new method for
customers to contact us.
• On December 1 staff packed meals at Feed My Starving Children. It was a fantastic
opportunity to do something helpful for our global community during the season of
giving. It was also a fun team building activity and we are already looking forward to our
next session.
