Staff Update
ACTION REQUESTED:

DISCUSSION:
• Delivered 10 new water meters, sealed the meter, installed an encoder receiver
transmitter, and took curb stop ties.
• Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples
o All confirmed negative for Coliform Bacteria
o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH
• Completed 20 routine fluoride samples
o All samples met MDH standards
o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report
• Submitted Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR) for the Diesel Generation Plant to the
Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
• The pump, motor, and drop pipe have been removed from Well #2 for routine
maintenance and inspection.
• The water operators have started annual maintenance of the water treatment plants.
This process includes inspecting and recharging the iron and manganese removal
pressure filters.
• We have once again placed protective plastic bags on fire hydrants along high traffic
roads to protect them from corrosion from road salt.
• All Water Department field staff members have completed backflow device testing
certification. Having staff certified to test devices is part of ERMU's updated backflow
prevention policy.
• Staff has been moving and organizing tools, equipment, and materials from the old field
services building to the new building.
