01-27-1920 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER SPECIAL MEETING CITY COUNCIL JANUARY 27, 1920 Special meeting of the Village Council held at the Office of the Elk River Lumber Co on Tues Jan 27 all members being present. Meeting called to order by the President at 8 o’clock p.m. The first order of business was to allow the following bills. Wells-Dickey Co of Mpls two bills To 6 months interest due Feb 1, 1920 on Funding Bonds $8,000.00 or at the rate of 5% per annum $200.00 To 6 months interest due Feb 1, 1920 on water works bonds $32,000.00 at 5% $800.00 Total $1,000.00 Motion by J.H. Virgin, President, and seconded by Ben Can, Trustee and carried that the bills of the Wells-Dickey Co for interest on Village bonds due Feb 1, 1920 be allowed and that the clerk issue warrants for the same and forward to Wells-Dickey Co Mpls and that he procure Repts for the separate amounts. The President notified the Council that it would be advisable to remove the Fire apparatus from its present storage, Elk River Grage, to the E.N. Daly garage on Main Street, reasons for such change being on account of the former garage being insufficieintly heated and not a proper place for the Chemical Truck or the Fire Engine after discussing the matter it was decided to remove the same and the following resolution was duly passed. Be it resolved by the Village Council that they proceed as soon as possible to have the Fire apparatus removed from the Elk River garage to the Daly garage on Main Street and that whatever part of the same could not be stored in the Daly garage would be taken care of in the Building known as the “Service garage on Quincy Street”. The clerk was instructed by the Council to purchase from W.S. Nott and Co of Minneapolis 12 Chemical Charges for the Hand Extingishers on the Chemical Truck. Bills allowed as follos. 1854 Wells-Dickey Co interest due on funding bonds $200.00 1855 Wells Dickey Co interest due on water work bonds 800.00 $1000.00 No further business. Council adjourned.
