VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL
APRIL 6, 1920
Regular meeting of the Village Council held at the office of the Elk River Lumber Co on Tuesday,

April 6, 1920.
Members present J.H. Virgin, President, Bert Carr, Trustee, Chas Selhauer, Trustee, D.W.
Longfellow, Trustee.
Meeting called to order by the President at 8:00 p.m.
Mr. C. Slaltenburg appeared before the council representing the Elk River fire dept. regarding the
Election of John Madson as Chief. The Council approved of Mr. John Madson as being Chief of the
Elk River Fire Dept. It was also suggested by Mr. Slaltenburg that a committee of three firemen
attend a firemen’s convention at Moorhead and wanted the help of the Council.
H.B. Nickerson appeared before the council in regard to the Spurr track across the highway to the
new creamery. The Council decided to take the matter in consideration and look it up.
John Vacha was at the meeting to talk over the matter regarding water up Princeton St.
No further business. Motion made meeting adjourned.
