VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL
JULY 12, 1920
Special meeting of the Village Council was held at the offices of the Elk River Lumber Co on
Monday, July 12, 1920.
Members present J.H. Virgin, President, D.W. Longfelllow, Trustee, Bert Carr, Trustee, M.P.
Williams, Clerk
Purpose of this meeting was to discuss a proposition to made to the Twin Cities Milk Producers
Assn of St. Paul regarding length of Main to be put in also the rate to be charged them for water. It
was decided to have a member present of the Town City Milk Producers Assn. and put the matter
before them.
Mr. F.M. Plank, Harry Hall, CW Guptil were at the Council representing the Elk River Commercial
Club in reference to the Crossing on Main St across from Guptils residence.
Motion made by D.W. Longfellow that the crossing on Main St and Minnesota Sts be fixed up also
crossing near the Chadbourne Residence. Motion seconded by J.H. Virgin and passed by the
Council.
The following bill to Phelps Drake was allowed less 15% which is to be retained until contract is
fulfilled.
The Clerk was ordered to make a warrant to Phelps Drake and Co for $6387.38 amount of estimate
#6 warrant #1917.
No more business. Council adjourned.
