VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL

Special meeting of the Village council held at the offices of the Elk River Lumber Co Aug 3 1920.
Members present J.H. Virgin, President, Bert Carr, Trustee, D.W. Longfellow, Trustee, M.P.
Williams, Clerk
Meeting called to order by the president at 8 p.m.
Motion made by D.W. Longfellow and seconded by Bert Carr that J.H. Virgin investigate the
circumstances regarding Mrs. Harrington as she has applied to the city of help to pay her bills and
Mr. J.H. Virgin is to report at next meeting regarding the circumstances.
Motion voted on and posed by council.
Motion made by Chas Selhauer that Wm Brown be appointed weightmaster of the village.
Motion seconded by J.H. Virgin and passed by the council.
Motion made by D.W. Longfellow and seconded by J.H. Virgin Pres that we accept the offer of the
Phelps Drake Co in installing an extension of 4 in main starting from Main and Ferry Street
extending to the east line of Ferry Street at $2.75 per ft. Complete.
Motion voted on and accepted by council.
Motion made by D.W. Longfellow and seconded by Bert Carr that the Clerk write Phelps Drake Co
to install a temporary pump without any expense to the village.
Motion passed and accepted by the council.
Motion made by J.H. Virgin that we take out compensation insurance covering employees of the
Village of Elk River.
Motion seconded by D.W. Longfellow and passed and accepted by the Council.
Motion made by Chas Selhauer the following bills be allowed.
