08-24-1920 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 24, 1920 Special meeting of the office of the village council held in the offices of the Elk River Lumber Co on Aug 24, 1920. Members present J.H. Virgin, President, Bert Carr, Trustee, D.W. Longfellow, Trustee, M.P. Williams, Clerk Meeting called to order by the president at 8 p.m. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the present Village ordinances in force and it was decided by the council to look over the ordinances and to make new ordinances for those that are needed and also revise those that are in force. Motion made D.W. Longfellow and seconded by J.H. Virgin Pres that a committee be appointed to look up the old ordinances and report on some to the council at the earliest date possible. Motion voted on and passed by the Council. Motion made by D.W. Longfellow and seconded by J.H. Virgin, Pres that Bert Carr be appointed to look after the water connections. Motion accepted and passed by the council. Motion made by D.W. Longfellow and seconded by Bert Carr that the bill be allowed to Phelps Drake Co for $5,379.37 and the clerk to issue a warrant for same. Motion accepted and passed by the council.
