VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 7, 1920
Special meeting of the Village Council was held in the office of the Elk River Lumber Co Oct 7,
1920.
Members present J.H. Virgin, President, Chas Selhauer, Trustee, Bert Carr, Trustee, D.W.
Longfellow, Trustee, M.P. Williams, Clerk
A Committee of the Community Club consisting of Mrs. Semans and Mrs. Baily came before the
council requesting that a tax buy be made by the council this year for library purposes.
A report and analysis of the Elk River Power and Light Co requesting higher rates for electric
current was brought before the council for consideration. A motion that the matter be laid on the
table for consideration was carried.
Motion made by J.H. Virgin and seconded by Bert Carr the following levies be made for this year
1920. Motion accepted and passed by the council.
General Revenue fund $10,000.00
Poor fund 599.99
Library fund 400.00
Musical Entertainment fund 200.00
The following bills were read and motion made by J.H. Virgin. Seconded by Chas Selhauer and
passed by the council that they be paid and warrants issued for same.

1964 Wm Giff salary for Sept 75.00
1965 Elk River Power and Light Co 119.00
1966 Wm Brown sal for 30 days at 5.00 per day 130.00
1967 Wm Giff labor on streets 109.70
1968 A.L Thompson labor on street 6.00
1969 Carr and Hall labor and supplies 41.59
No further business council adjourned.
