VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 29, 1920
Special meeting of the Village Council was held in the office of the Elk River Lumber Co on Nov 29
1920.
Members present J.H. Virgin, President, D.W. Longfellow, Trustee, Chas Selhauer, Bert Carr,
Trustee
Meeting called to order by the president at 8 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting was to adopt Plans and resolutions in behalf of the special assessment
bonds which the council has decided upon to make arrangements for a special election to be held

Dec 13 to take care of the indebtness of the village on the water works system by means of issuing
bonds on the water works system for the amount of $26,000.00.
The council proceeded to vote on a resolution read from the Minnesota Loan and Trust Co a copy
of which is filed with Clerk.
The above resolution was made for the purpose of issuing $2600.00 of bonds some resolution was
read and approved by the council.
Motion was made to Charles Selauer and seconded by D.W. Longfellow that the resolution be
accepted. Motion voted on and accepted by the council.
All papers pertaining to the above election as filed with the village clerk and marked as such.
Motion made by D.W. Longfellow and seconded by Bert Carr that the final estimate of Phelps
Drake Co in completion of the Village Water works system be allowed as followed $207.59 to be
held back as a guarantee to fixing sidewalk crossings. The final estimate is $253.76 less $207.59
which is $2,328.17 and the clerk was ordered to issue warrant for same.
The following bills were allowed and the clerk was order to issue warrants for same.
Motion accepted by the council that the following bills be allowed.

2008 M.G. Goodwin labor on sewer 2 hrs at 60 cents per hr 1.20
2009 John Noren labor on sewer 78 ½ hrs at 70 cents per hr 54.95
2010 Fred Peterson labor on road with team 2 days 16.00
2011 Ed Anderson labor on road with team 2 days 16.00
2012 Warren Bargobas labor on sewer 15 ½ hrs at 50 cents per hr 7.75
2013 J.A. Madson chief theatre fire 21.50
