VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL
DECEMBER 22, 1920
Special meeting of the Village Council was held in the offices of the Elk River Lumber Co on Dec
22, 1920.
Members present J.H. Virgin, President, Bert Carr, Trustee, M.P. Williams, Clerk
Meeting called to order by the president at 8 p.m.
Minutes of last meeting was read and approved by the council.
The purpose of this meeting was to adopt and resolve a resolution made by the Minnesota Land and
Trust Co to advertise bids on the $26,000.00 waterworks bonds. The sale of said bonds to be held

on Jan 8, 1921 at 11 o’clock a.m. The above resolution is duly filed in the office of the Village clerk.
The matter was brought to the attention of the council by M.P. Williams Clerk regarding the
purchase of a syren \[sic\] which was discussed by council and said council came to the conclusion
that syren is needed upon which the following motion was made.
Motion made by J.H. Virgin and seconded by Bert Carr that the clerk get prices and terms on a
syren so that at next meeting this proposition of purchasing a syren may be disposed of.
Motion accepted and passed by the council.
Motion made by Bert Carr and seconded by J.H. Virgin that the following bills be paid. Clerk issue
warrants for same.
