MINUTES OF VILLAGE ELECTION

(a) The lines following the letter (a) in this blank are left to write in the fact, that “the electors
present at the time and place named for opening the polls, elected the Judges and Clerk viva voce,
because the Council had neglected to make such appointment,” or “because the persons so
appointed, or one or more of them, neglected or refused to serve” (if such was the case).

At the Annual Village Election of the Village of Elk River in the County of Sherburne and State of
Minnesota held at Odd Fellows Hall being the place where it was directed to be held by the Village

Council after giving due notice thereof as provided by law, on the 9 day of March 1920 H.A. Hall
and A.L. Cohn, J.H. Virgin two three qualified voters of said Village, to act as Judges of such
Election, and one qualified voter of said Village to act as Clerk of such Election, each of whom had
within twenty days before such time been designated and appointed by the Village Council to act as
Judges and Clerk respectively of such Election (a) C.E. Plank, Clerk who, being present, at the hour
of 9 o’clock A.M. each of them duly took and subscribed an oath to faithfully discharge the duties
required of them at such Election, and the said Judges and Clerk being duly qualified, forthwith
opened the polls by proclamation, and the Election proceeded by ballot without adjournment or
intermission until closed.
The subjects voted on at such Election, as stated in the Notice thereof, were:
To elect A President of Village Council
One Trustee for the term of one year
One Trustee for the term of two years
One Trustee for the term of three years
One Village Treasurer for the term of one year
Village Clerk for the term of one year
At 5 o’clock in the afternoon of said day the polls were closed, proclamation thereof having been
made by one of the Judges thirty minutes previous hereto. The Judges then proceeded to publicly
count and canvass the votes, and a true statement thereof was proclaimed to the voters by the Clerk
of the Election.
STATEMENT OF RESULT OF CANVASS
The following is a true statement of the result of the counting and canvass of votes by ballot at the
Annual Village Election of the Village of Elk River County of Sherburne and State of Minnesota,

held March 9 1920 as proclaimed to the voters by the Clerk of Election.
John H. Virgin received 131 votes for President of Council
John H. Virgin was declared elected President of Council
Charles Selhauer received 129 votes for Trustee, term of 1 year
Chas. S. Wheaton Sr received 20 votes for Trustee, term of 2 year
D.W. Longfellow received 81 votes for Trustee, term of 3 year
Charles Selhauer was declared elected Trustee, term of 1 year
Chas. S. Wheaton was declared elected Trustee, term of 2 year
D.W. Longfellow was declared elected Trustee, term of 3 year
L.K. Houlton received 132 votes for Treasurer
L.K. Houlton was declared elected Treasurer
William Norval received 132 votes for Clerk
William Norval was declared elected Clerk
