08-06-1923 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 6, 1923 A special meeting of the Village Council was held on Monday Aug 6, 1923 at the Library Room. Present – C.E. Brown, Pres, Geo Cornelius, Trustee and W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk. Meeting called to order by the Pres at 8 o’clock P.M. Minutes of the last meeting read and approved. The following resolution was presented and on motion duly made seconded and declared carried was adopted. Resolved: That the sum of two hundred (200.00) dollars be appropriated to cover the expense of gravelling the new extension of Hope Street to meeting the Meadowvale road within the Village limits. It being understood that the County do all the grading the Clerk was instructed to draw a warrant for same when work is completed to the satisfaction of the Council. In regard to the relief of Mrs. Martineau after some discussion the following motion was made seconded and declared carried that the Village Clerk be authorized to draw a warrant to the amount of $6.25 on the poor fund until further notice and forward to Mrs. Martineau. The clerk was directed to order 12 more water meters from the Badger Meter Co. The Clerk was also instructed to write Mr. F.E. Griswold Pres of the E.R. Power and Light Co in regard to power furnished at the pumping station and ask him to meet the council some time in the near future and discuss other matters also. The following bills were presented and on motion allowed. Expense of Special Election July 16, 1923 22.25 J.A.
