VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 12, 1923
A Special Meeting of the Village Council was held at the Library Room on Monday evening Nov.
12, 1923.
Present – C.E. Brown, Pres, Geo Cornelius, Trustee and W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk.
Meeting called to order by the Pres. at 8 o’clock P.M.
The minutes of the last meting read and approved.
An ordinance was presented to the Council for its consideration and asked that it be adopted.
Entitled A Ordinance declaring the Emission of smoke within the Village of Elk
River a Public Nuisance and prohibiting the same.
On motion the above entitled Ordinance was read and referred to the Council to report at the next
meeting.
Mr. E.E. Chase Co. Surveyor reported that the R.R. Co had put in the crossing at Hope Street and
that he was preparing the deeds of property from the owners to the Village of Elk River.
On motion resolved that – when these deeds were made that the clerk be instructed to draw a
warrant for the payment of $120.00 to the R.R. Co. that being the cost of putting in the said
crossing.
The following bills were presented and on motion allowed and clerk ordered to draw warrants for
same.
