11-01-1926 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL NOVEMBER 1, 1926 Regular meeting of the Village Council was held at the Library Room on Monday Nov 1, 1926. Present – Roland K. Wilson, Pres, Geo Cornelius, L.L. Bishop, Trustees, W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk Meeting called to order by the Pres at 8 o’clock PM The following bills were presented and on motion allowed: E.R. Meat Market goods for May Dawson 4.59 Charles Roggatz coal 9.75 E.R. Fire Depmt attending Flaherty fire 13.00 Fred Ayers labor water works 3.00 Odegard Hoglund Co repairs fire engine 2.17 E.R. Power and Light repairs st. lights 3.55 Star News printing 32.40 Caley Hdw Co grades 8.70 R.H. Sass sign for library 8.00 Maurice Goodwin tapping water main 3 times 6.00 E.R. Lumber Co goods for street 119.65 Power and Light Co dirt for st. 3.00 W.H. Clements street work 38.00 Frank Nogle street work 3.00 Ole Jacobson gravel 4.75 E.R. Blacksmith Shop shop grates for st 63.49 The matter of providing a place for the fire apparatus. It was decided to rent the room back of the Star News office. Formerly occupied by the Crescent () Creamery Co and fix it up for an engine house for the present. th A profile of the survey for water drainage on 4 St and estimate of cost of same was presented by William E. Brown engineers for State Highway. No action taken at this meeting. Mrs. M.E. Guptel Library Clerk presented the annual report of the Library Assn. Read and placed on file. The following named directors of the Library Assn terms having expired on motion the same were reappointed. Mrs. Ella Plummer, Mrs. D.W. Longfellow and Mrs. C.W. Guptel. The following budget was submitted to the council as necessary to finance the Village for the year 1927 Revenue 8,000.00 Music 500.00 Library 400.00 Special Bond and Ins 3,500.00 Poor 400.00 Road and Bridge 1,500.00 Resolved that the above Budget be accepted as presented and tax levied to meet the required amounts. Adopted by a unanimous vote. Clerk instructed to notify auditor. No further business. Meeting adjourned. W.F. Chadbourne, Village Clerk
