03-08-1927 Minutes of Village Election MINUTES OF VILLAGE ELECTION MARCH 8, 1927 ______________ (a) The lines following the letter (a) in this blank are left to write in the fact, that “the electors present at the time and place named for opening the polls, elected the Judges and Clerk viva voce, because the Council had neglected to make such appointment,” or “because the persons so appointed, or one or more of them, neglected or refused to serve” (if such was the case). ______________ At the Annual Village Election of the Village of Elk River in the County of Sherburne and State of Minnesota held at IOOF Hall being the place where it was directed to be held by the Village Council th after giving due notice thereof as provided by law, on the 8 day of March 1927 Emma Booth and E.E. Scott two qualified voters of said Village, to act as Judges of such Election, and one qualified voter of said Village to act as Clerk of such Election, each of whom had within twenty days before such time been designated and appointed by the Village Council to act as Judges and Clerk respectively of such Election (a) ___ who, being present, at the hour of 9 o’clock A.M. each of them duly took and subscribed an oath to faithfully discharge the duties required of them at such Election, and the said Judges and Clerk being duly qualified, forthwith opened the polls by proclamation, and the Election proceeded by ballot without adjournment or intermission until closed. The subjects voted on at such Election, as stated in the Notice thereof, were: To elect President of Council One Trustee for 3 years One Clerk for 1 year One Treasurer for 1 year One Justice of the Peace 2 years At 5 o’clock in the afternoon of said day the polls were closed, proclamation thereof having been made by one of the Judges thirty minutes previous hereto. The Judges then proceeded to publicly count and canvass the votes, and a true statement thereof was proclaimed to the voters by the Clerk of the Election. STATEMENT OF RESULT OF CANVASS The following is a true statement of the result of the counting and canvass of votes by ballot at the Annual Village Election of the Village of Elk River County of Sherburne and State of Minnesota, held March 8, 1927 as proclaimed to the voters by the Clerk of Election. Roland K. Wilson received 101 votes for President of Council Chas Brown received 3 votes for President of Council Roland K. Wilson was declared elected President of Council L.L. Bishop received 106 votes for Trustee, term of 3 year Emil Kliever received 1 votes for Trustee, term of 3 year L.L. Bishop was declared elected Trustee, term of 3 year T.H. Daly received 106 votes for Treasurer H.R. Caley received 1 votes for Treasurer T.H. Daly was declared elected Treasurer W.F. Chadbourne received 107 votes for Clerk W.F. Chadbourne was declared elected Clerk F.M. Plank received 29 votes for Assessor John Keen received 2 votes for Assessor \[blank\] was declared elected Assessor C.E.
