VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL
DECEMBER 3, 1928
The regular monthly meeting of the village council was held at the Library Room Monday
December 3, 1928.
Present – Thomas E. Beck, Pres., Geo Cornelius, L.L. Bishop, E.E. Scott, Trustees, W.F.
Chadbourne, Clerk
Meeting called to order by the Pres at 8 o’clock P.M.
Mrs. Parsons and Mrs. Guptil representing the Library Association came before the Council asking a
donation to purchase books.
On motion duly made and carried the sum of 100.00 was donated for that purpose from the Library
Fund.
Charles Selhauer came before the Council and asked that the road at his place be called Beck
Avenue. Mr. Beck having opened this road on his own responsibility. No objections offered.
The following bills were presented and on motion allowed.

Middlestadt Bros presented an estimate of cost to furnish the pumbing at Village Hall and make a
complete job for the sum of 189.00
On motion it was decided to have it done.
On motion decided to have tiling in vestibule in place of cement. Beck agreeing to have it done.
On motion it was decided to have the walls of the engine room painted 2 coats paint Mr. Patenaude
agreeing to do same for 25.00.
It was also decided to have the jail plastered at the cost of 60.00.
The clerk was ordered to purchase a new 5x7 hydrant.
It was also agreed that the council unite with the Commercial Club in putting on a celebration at the
completion of Village Hall.
No further business appearing meeting adjourned.
