VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
MAY 18, 1909
The Common Council met at the office O.J. Whiteman.
Members present: F.L. Salter, President, J. Virgin, B. Carr, Pollard, trustees, O.J. Whiteman,
recorder. Meeting called to order by President at 8:00 p.m.
Minutes of last meeting read and approved.
Request R.E. Dare to be granted a permit to erect a wood stairway on east side of his store was read
and on motion by Pollard and seconded by Virgin the request was granted.
The following bills were audited and allowed:
S.S. Task - ?? S?? - $2.00
W.P. Rhoda – freight bills - $3.89
Standard Oil Co. – 60 gal gasoline - $7.38
R.E. Dare – for ???? - $2.00
S.S. Task – work on Chadbounee well ?? - $12.00
On motion by Virgin and seconded by Pollard to have engineer ? to come ? and look over bridge
and examine piers of the bridge across the Mississippi river was carried.
No further business adjourned carried.
