VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
JUNE 8, 1909
The Common Council met at the office O.J. Whiteman.
Members present: F.L. Salter, President, J. Virgin, B. Carr, Pollard, trustees, O.J. Whiteman,
recorder. Meeting called to order by President at 6:20 p.m.
Minutes of last meeting read and approved.
It was decided at this meeting that the concrete ab???? At west end of bridge across the Elk River in
upper town should be built as soon as possible and on motion by Virgin seconded by Polland the
street committee was empowered to proceed at once to build the ab?????.
The following bills were audited and allowed:
Standard Oil – 40 gallons gasoline - $4.92
Geo Biddick – work on street with team - $5.25
Alf Low – work in park - $4.00
Pollard – work on street - $3.00
The Patterson Street Lighting Co. – 6 doz. mantels - $9.00
D.J.E. Jaisars, ? at ? - $5.00

Meeting of the board of health for organization members present, Pollard, Virgin, Carr on motion
by Pollard and seconded by Carr, Virgin was elected chairman, O.J. Whiteman, clerk. On motion by
Pollard seconded by Carr Dr. Geo E. ?ag? was elected health officer.
