VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER SPECIAL MEETING CITY COUNCIL
MARCH 31, 1911
A special meeting of the Common Council was held March 31, 1911 in the office of Geo. E. Page.
Present: Plummer, President, Page, Babcock and Worden, Trustees and Chadbourne, Village Recorder.
This meeting was called to order for the purpose of taking action in regard to application of Geo. H.
Blanchett for a license to sell intoxicating liquor. Notice of said application having been published in
the Star News two weeks.
Motion was made by Chadbourne seconded by Babcock to lay said application on table for one week.
Motion lost.
Ayes – Chadbourne, Babcock – 2
Nyes – Plummer, Page, Worden – 3
Motion was made by Page, seconded by Babcock to gravel the application of Geo. H. Blanchett to sell
intoxicating liquors in the N.E. corner room of Blanchett Hotel situated on the lot (1) block (3) village
of Elk River for the term of one year. Motion carried.
Ayes – Plummer, Page, Babcock – 3
Nyes – Worden, Chadbourne – 2
The application was granted subject to ordinance No. 5 placing the amount of license at $2,000.
Motion was made by Babcock seconded by Chadbourne that the following list of names to furnished
Geo. H. Blanchett as to persons to whom liquor was not to be sold at this place of business:
Henry Holt
Geo. Foley
Charles Auspos
C.H. Kleine
Joe Hulbert
Oliver Mausur
Charles Spencer
Motion carried unanimously.
No other business to come before the meeting adjourned.
