VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL
JULY 1, 1911
A regular meeting of the Common Council was held on July 1, 1911 in the office of Geo. E. Page.
Present: Geo. E. Page, President, B.F. Plummer, E.P. Babcock Trustees, W.F. Chadbourne, clerk.
The meeting was called to order by President at 8:00
The following bills were presented and on motion duly made seconded and carried were allowed and
Clerk directed to draw orders on the Treasury for their respective accounts.
Good furnished Mrs. Kane, a needy person by W.R. Smith - $13.11
J.E. Hauelet – gasoline for hauling engine - $11.25
W.L. Babcock Sons Co. – goods for Village - $20.14
John Rither – repairing water pipes in park – $5.00
The Patterson Street Lighting Co. – goods for streetlights - $68.69
Minot Fourtillolte – repairing sidewalk - $7.00
Geo. E. Page M.D. – fumigating and ex. - $30.40
Elk River Lumber Co. – lumber for sidewalk - $103.35
Frank Ingusoll – work on sidewalk - $9.00
Geo. Worden – work on sidewalk - $11.50
A.N. Dare – printing Ordinance No. 59 - $3.00
F.D. Waterman – assessing 1911 - $75.00
The following resolution was adopted by unanimous consent that the Village donate $25.00 for
benefit of G.A.R. for Decoration Day and $25.00 for benefit of July 4, 1911 celebration.
The Village clerk was instructed check up with Harold Keaye the goods read from the Patterson
Street Lighting Co.
The clerk was also instructed to draw an order for $40.00 ??? being 2% of ??? if liquor license to be
paid State auditor.
Harry Hamlet, Village Marshal, having tended his resignation for said office which was accepted.
The council proceeded to appoint someone to fill the vacancy.

After due consideration by the Council it was decided to appoint John Bither for one month
commencing July 1, 1911 to take care of lamps and attend duties of Marshal at $60 subject to con???
