03-30-1912 SPECIAL VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER CITY COUNCIL SPEICAL MEETING MARCH 22, 1912 A special meeting of Village Council was held at the office of Geo. E. Page, President on March 22, 1912. Present: Geo. E. Page, President, E.P. Babcock and Geo. Worden, Trustees, W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk. Visitors: Charles {illegible}, Frank T. White and Geo H. Blanchett. The meeting was called pursuant to notice of application of Geo. Blanchett for license to sell intoxicating liquors in northeast {illegible} room of his hotel for the {illegible} year 1912. Notice of application having been published in Star News according to law and said Geo. H. Blanchett having presented his Bond the following resolution was adopted unanimously. Resolved: That the Council grant Geo. H. Blanchett a license to sell intoxicating liquor as petition asked for and {illegible} to ordinance made and provided and that the village clerk issue said license upon receiving $2,000 from said Blanchett. Geo. H. Blanchett Bond Acceptance On motion Bond of Geo. H. Blanchett was accepted and filed. F.N. {illegible} Bond Acceptance Audit $3,000 F.N. {(illegible}village treasurer elect presented his bond for faithful performance of his duties as treasurer for 1912 on motion bond accepted and filed. W.F. Chadbourne Bond Acceptance Audit $500 W.F. Chadbourne village clerk elect presented his bond for faithful performance of his duties as clerk for 1912 on motion accepted and filed. The following bills were presented and on motion allowed, clerk instructed to draw order for their respective amounts: A.N. Dare – printing - $52.80 Geo. E. Page – {illegible} - $1.50 A. Oberman – wood for jail - $2.50 S. T. Judge – wood for jail - $4.50 W.F. Chadbourne – expenses for election - $9.75 J.E. Hamlet – gasoline and wood - $12.35 Total - $83.40 Bill of E.R. Lumber Co. for coal by motion laid on table until our regular meeting. No further business, adjourned. W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk
