VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER SPECIAL MEETING CITY COUNCIL
MAY 13, 1912
A special meeting of the Village Council was held on Monday evening on Mar 13, 1912, at the office
of Geo. E. Page, President.
Geo. E. Page, President, B.F. Plummer and E.P. Babcock Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk.
Meeting called to order by President at 8:00 p.m.
The following bills were presented and on motion duly made seconded and carried were allowed and
clerk ordered to draw warrants for their respective accounts.
The Patterson Street Lighting Co. – streetlights - $26.27
W.R. Smith – goods for needy person $18.36
R.E. Dare – disinfectant - $5.00
Davis Bros. – goods for needy person - $11.86
Walter S. Booth & Sons – blanks for Justice - $5.20
J.E. Hamlett – gasoline - $8.08
Ben Daniels – work at washout - $6.00
John Blocker – work at washout - $6.00
M.K. Iliff – work at washout -$6.00
Will D{illegible} – work at washout - $3.00
Otis Hall – work at washout - $3.00
Geo. Lowe – work at washout - $2.00
Henry Bargabos – work at washout - $4.00
Otto Blocker – work at washout - $2.00
Grover Malroupe – work at washout - $2.00
Will Smith – work at washout - $4.50
Charles Mausner – work at washout - $6.00
On motion duly made seconded and carried the following special commitees were approved B.F.
Plummer to confer with {illegible}{illegible} in regard to aid in repairing bridge over Elk River on
account of washout May 7, 1912.
E.P. Babcock to get aid from State in repairing tubes at north end of bridge over Mississippi river.
State engineer Cooley having reported as to method of repairing tubes at north end of above bridge
recommending that the Village purchase a machine for repairing {illegible} at the cost of $500.00 on
motion he was instructed to purchase said machine and proceed to make such repairs as
recommended.
Mr. Frank Hall having presented a sealed bid accompanied with certified check for $25.00 to furnish
material and construct sidewalk on ease side of Princeton St according to specification on fille for
the sum of 60 cents per {illegible} for walk and $1.00 per yard for crossings. No other bid being
presented, and this price being deemed reasonable on motion bid accepted and bond fixed at
$200.00 for faithful performance of work.
Clerk instructed to notify said hall to that effect.
