Advertisement for Bids - 08-03-1959 ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: The Village Council of the Village of Elk River, Minnesota, will receive bids at the office of the Village Clerk in Elk River, Minnesota, until 8 P.M. on August 24, 1959, for the making of the following described local improvement under Chapter 429 M.S.A. The improvement consists of the construction of a waste treatment plant to serve the Village of Elk River, Minnesota. This includes a life station, a 34’ x 20’ dual primary clarifier, a 40’ trickling filter, a 34’ x 20’ dual final clarifier, a 10’ x 20’ chlorination tank, a 36’ digester, a 17’ x 25’ control building and sludge drying beds. Bids shall be directed to the Village Clerk, securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside wrapper with a brief statement or summary of the work for which the bid is made. The address of the Village Clerk is Mr. H.A. Briggs, Village Clerk, Elk River, Minnesota. The bids will be publicly opened for consideration by the Council at 8 P.M., August 24, 1959, at the Elk River Village Hall, Elk River, Minnesota. A certified check, bid bond, cashier’s check, or a cash deposit in the amount of 5% of the total bid shall accompany each bid. Checks shall be made payable to the Village of Elk River and will be cashed by the Village if the bidder fails to execute a contract within ten (10) days after the award of a contract by the Village. The village reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any technicalities, and to make the award in the best interest of the Village. No bidder may withdraw his proposal for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening thereof. All bidders shall use Bid Forms supplied by the Engineer. Partial payments will be made each month, as provided in the specification. Copies of the drawings and specifications may be seen at the office of the Village Clerk, Elk River, Minnesota. Copies of the drawings, specifications and bid forms may be obtained from the Engineer, Carter, Krueger & Associations, Inc., 3381 Gorham Avenue (St. Louis Park), Minneapolis 26, Minnesota, upon making a deposit of fifteen ($15.00) dollars. Failure to submit a bona fide bid will result in forfeiture of deposit. All bidders submitting a bona fide bid at this time and place designated will receive refund of their deposit upon return of drawings and specifications complete to the Engineer within ten (10) days after the bid opening date.
