03-06-2007 DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMEN TASK FORCE MEMORANDUM TO: Heritage Preservation Commission FROM: Heidi Steinmetz, Assistant Director of Economic Development DATE: March 6, 2007 SUBJECT: Downtown Redevelopment Plan Taskforce Work Plan Purpose The purpose of this memorandum is in response to Chair Lindberg’s request for the Downtown Redevelopment Plan Taskforce’s work plan. Issue The work plan is not detailed because it is often refined based on Taskforce discussion and information requests. Below is an overview of the work plan to date; keeping in mind that the dates are subject to change depending on the Taskforce process. Nov ’06 − Mar ’07 --Education process April − June 2007 --Visioning process/plan development July 2007 --HRA, EDA, Planning Commission, Park & Recreation Commission and HPC review draft plan --Community and stakeholder open house/plan review August 2007 --HRA and City Council consider plan adoption followed by plan implementation Other Information st Chair Lindberg contacted me on February 21 inquiring of when the HPC could bring forth their policy recommendations to the Taskforce and if the HPC could provide suggestions for a heritage preservation speaker to provide a presentation to the Taskforce. I indicated to Chair Lindberg that he could present the HPC recommendations at any time and that the HPC is welcomed to provide me with suggestions for a speaker. Chair Lindberg stated that he would discuss the issues with the HPC at tonight’s meeting. The policy recommendations and suggestions for a speaker will need to be provided to me March 6, 2007 HPC Meeting Page 2 of 2 thth no later than March 16 if the HPC items are added to the April 9 Taskforce meeting agenda. I will coordinate directly with the speaker so that I am able to coordinate the presentation with other Taskforce meeting tasks.
