Appointments
ACTION REQUESTED:
Adopt, by motion, a resolution appointing General Manager Mark Hanson as the Responsible
Authority, and Governance
& Communications Manager Tony Mauren as the Data Practices
Compliance Official.
BACKGROUND:
As part of our Data Practices Policy, ERMU is required by state statute to appoint an employee
as the Responsible Authority to administer the requirements of government data within the
utility, and a Data Practices Compliance Official whom persons may direct questions or
concerns regarding problems in obtaining access to data or other data practices matters. At the
February 8, 2022, commission meeting, the Commission appointed General Manager Theresa
Slominski as the Responsible Authority, and Executive Administrative Manager Tony Mauren as
the Data Practices Compliance Official.
DISCUSSION:
With the retirement of Theresa Slominski, a new employee should be appointed by the Board
of Commissioners. Staff recommends the appointment of General Manager Mark Hanson as the
Responsible Authority. With the change in title from Executive Administrative Manager to
Governance & Communications Manager staff recommends the reappointment of Tony
Mauren as the Data Practices Compliance Official with the updated title.
