DISCUSSION:
• In the last 30 days, the level two electric vehicle charger located downtown had 37
sessions and provided customers with 401 kWh. The level two charger located in front
of the ERMU primary office had 0 sessions and provided customers with 0 kWh. The DC
fast charger at the Coborn's fuel station needs a modem upgrade to allow for
connection to the network. Staff has reached out again to ChargePoint to understand
why the new modem has arrived, but we are waiting for the work to be dispatched.
ChargePoint sent this response via email on 1/22/2023, "1 was updated that they were
onsite and determined another component is needed and will update us once they have
a new ETA for the next service."
• Currently there are six active residential solar array projects under review or
construction in the ERMU service territory. Staff continues to collaborate with
customers interested in a solar installation on a case -by -case basis. Staff also submitted
the Annual Distributed Energy Resource Interconnection Report with the Minnesota
Public Utilities Commission Docket E999/PR-23-10. ERMU helped our customers
interconnect 39 new solar panel systems totaling 280 kW of capacity in 2022. The total
renewable energy interconnected to the ERMU distribution system is 570 kW.
• ERMU and City staff mailed the Home Improvement Resources flyer to all customers in
the Elk River urban services area. This is a great partnership with the City of Elk River, Tri
County Community Action Program, and ERMU to promote efficiency programs that are
targeted to customers most in need of repairs and upgrades. The flyer highlights grants,
low -interest loans, and the weatherization programs. This initiative was the first time
we directly targeted these customers for this program and so far it has been successful.
The City has received five phone calls from interested property owners. See attached
flyer.

ERMU staff is working with Energy Management Solutions to coordinate an audit of the
Furniture and Things Community Event Center. The audit will take place in late February
or early March.
