The leak developed from improper hardware used on a fitting that had deteriorated connecting a twelve -inch water main pipe to a ten -inch pipe. With the help of a contractor the leak was repaired by replacing the deteriorated hardware. The water main needed to be shutdown, disrupting water service in the area for about four hours while the repair work was performed. • The water operators have continued to work on the annual preventative maintenance of our water treatment plants.
