Policy Review - Bylaws
ACTION REQUESTED:

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
Beginning in 2023, staff is instituting an initiative to facilitate regular review of the Commission
Policy manual. Progressing through the manual in sequential order, staff will present at least
one policy for review in the commission packet, giving commissioners the opportunity to make
comments or raise concerns at the meeting.
This will serve the dual functions of keeping utilities governance policy fresh in the mind of
commissioners while also creating an opportunity to note any necessary updates.
This month commissioners are reviewing G.1a — Bylaws. The purpose of this policy is to
establish the utilities commission's authority, jurisdiction, functions, powers, and relationship
to the general manager.
