DISCUSSION:
• Installed six new residential services, which involves the connection of a secondary line
once the customer requests service.
• Installed three phase primary underground wire and set a three phase transformer for
service at a new car wash in Otsego.
• Crews started the third section of the overhead rebuild along County Road 35.
• Joe Schmidt from Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA) was here
December 28 and presented a year-end review of safety trainings.
• 1 attended the MMUA Technical & Operations conference held in St. Cloud, MN,
December 6-8.
• Staff worked on final inventory for 2022 the last week of December. Inventory accuracy
was once again very high which is outstanding especially given the fact that 2022
involved moving all inventory over to the new field services building.
• Staff started the annual equipment and mapping field checks. This involves opening
boxes and checking equipment both visually and with infrared for problems, as well as
checking tags for mapping accuracy. Finding issues now, prevents outages later. A
portion of the system is checked on a rotational basis every year.
• Replaced a streetlight and pole that was struck by a vehicle at Twin Lakes Road and
173,d Avenue.
• Replaced a streetlight and pole that was struck at 171s' Lane and Olson Street.
• Crews have started performing annual maintenance and repairs of equipment including
excavators, cable plows, and the bore rig.
• Curt Wark and Alex Bernier attended transformer school hosted by MMUA in Marshall,
MN, December 13-16.
• A representative from the State of Minnesota was here December 20 and held a training
on de-escalation and workplace violence.
• Tanner Ellis' last day was December 12, 2022.
