Approve, byT motion, the hiring of Andrew Leland to the position of street maintenance operator effective March
6, 2023.
Background/Discussion
We `vent to market to fill a recent street maintenance operator vacancyT and received 29 applications. We
interviewed 12 candidates and had second interviews �vith t�vo. Follo�ving background and reference checks and
pYe-employrment testing, we Yecommend AndYew Leland for the position.
Mr. Leland's work historyT includes tYansportation generalist and generalist senior with MNDOT, equipment
operator for rinoka Count�T HighwayT Department, street maintenance `vorker at RamseyT, and most recentlyT a sign
`vorker with Hennepin CountyT Public Works. iVlr. Leland also holds a Class A Commercial Driver's License with a
Tanker Endorsement.
Based on his experience,lVLr. Leland will start at Step B of the Local 49 payr scale for this position. All payr and
benefits will be consistent with the NOE Local 49 union contract and cityr policyr.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
