05-09-1971 TBM ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING MAY 9, 1971 The meeting was called to order by the Chairman Earl Schulke. A group of town members consisting of Lyle Crewe, Carl Schwefliger, Jim and Marian Gliff, Eldon and Florence Beard and others appeared to discuss the status of the road past Anny Meyers. A meeting will be held at site of th the road mentioned a 7 PM on May 10 at 7. Members of the Burns Town Board met with our board. Henry West, Ernest Koehler. They discussed the joint town road between Burns and Elk River. The road has many frost boils. It was decided that gravel with some clay was needed. Burns Township is to get a contractor to do the job. Motion made by E. Specht seconded by 7 Madsen. Motion carried. Elk River to share ½ the cost of gravel and blading. A motion was made that a beer license be granted to the softball team at the fair grounds. Motion made by E Specht. Seconded by F. Madsen. Motion carried. A motion was made by EL Specht and seconded by Franklin Madsen that the town go on record that they are opposed to the Saint Paul Sand and Gravel Company establishing a sanitary land fill on their property in Sections 9 16, and 21 T33N R26W. Sherburne County. Motion carried. A letter to this effect is being sent to the Sherburne County Planning Commission. Meeting adjourned.
