ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING
MARCH 14, 1972
At the annual town meeting the polls were declared open by the chairman Earl Schulke. The
following qualified voters of the township voted.
The business meeting was called to order by the chairman. Gordon Fredericksen was appointed as
moderator. The treasurers report was called for as the first order of business. R&B 22,328.00
$18,701.00 Rev $7,816.00 Poor is the amount in each of the funds. Bank Balance was $53,870.77.
The treasurer report was approved and accepted.
The levys for this next year is to be as follows. It was moved by E.L. Specht seconded by Franklin
Madsen the levys be set the same as last year. 15 thousand for R&B 6 thousand for Revenue and 25
hundred for poor. The motion carried. The question of attorneys fees came up. Jerome Filla the atty.
who has been working with the twp gave a summary of their law firm and work. A motion was
made by Bill Brady that the firm of attorneys in question be retained and that the upper limit of
expenditures for the annual town year be set at $4000.00 for attorney fees. Motion seconded by
Ernie Toth and motion carried. DR Moldenhauer moved seconded by Earl Schulke that the
resolution in regard to Anna Meyer road be accepted as presented by Atty Filla. This motion carried.
Next was discussion on the purchase of land for Town Hall. A motion was made by Ernie Toth that
the Town Board be authorized to buy land for not exceed 7000.00. Motion seconded by Bill Brady.
This motion carried. Motion made and seconded that meeting be adjourned. Motion carried.
