ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING
MAY 1, 1972
The Town Board Meeting was called to order by the chairman Franklin Madsen. Ben Roper and
Merle Kratzke appeared before the board to get the board stand on a request for Mrs. Smit to
operate a beauty shop in her home. E.L. Specht moved that the board go on record as being
opposed to this being carried out. Seconded by F. Madsen. Motion carried.
A group from Waites addition west of Elk River. Miles Knutson spoke for the group. They were
interested in getting the road in their area made a township road. So that in the future it can be
maintained by the Township. A petition was sent in to tar road from county road 12 south to Snake
Trail. Motion was made and seconded to table. Petition carried.
Neil Larson and Bill Miller met with the board in regard to the dispute on settlement of blacktop in
the Ridgewood Addition. It was felt that it was up to H&S and Elk River Town Board to settle the
issue.
Lloyd Barthel met in behalf of the Village Council. A discussion on fire protection was discussed. A
license was granted of Ball Park.
