ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING
MAY 8, 1972
A special meeting was called to order by the chairman Franklin Madsen. A motion was made and
seconded that the Town Board pay the remaining balance due on the Ridgewood Addition in the
amount of $1800.00. Motion carried. The purpose of the meeting is planning for a sewer district. A
motion was made and seconded to approve a beer license for Elk River County Club. Motion
carried.
A grant interested in the sewer district question met at the court house. Bill Mills discussed the
problem for Best Paint, Archie Larson Addition and Riverview Drive. Those in attendance
interested in pursuing the sewer problem 15 those opposed 18. On a second vote it was 17 for and
12 against for sewer district. No definite decision was arrived at in this meeting. A motion was made
and seconded to table and for west end carried.
A motion was made and seconded that north of Marvin George be carried out. Motion carried in
sewer project. As there was so little interest by people in affected area it was decided to drop plans
for sewer plan.
Meeting adjourned.
