ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING
JUNE 26, 1972
A special meeting was called by the chairman Franklin Madsen. The purpose was to view the plat
presented by Mr. Ben Roper. After some discussion it was made by motion that the plat be accepted
subject to the following. On the plat the street named Johnson be changed to Joplin and the corner
of lot one block 4 have a 30 ft set back 30 feet from corner in which no trees or shrubbery more
than 2 ft tall be planted. The motion was made by Earl Schulke and seconded by E Specht. Also
where the turn around is at East end of 190the Ave NW the road be extended the full 66 feet to the

east line of the plat Island View 2 addition. The following preceding was carried. A motion was
made by Frank Madsen that before any work is done on the streets the Town Board be consulted on
said streets. Motion seconded by DR Moldenhauer. Motion carried. The next order of business was
the contract for fire protection. It was moved by F. Madsen seconded by E. Schulke that the
contract be taken back to John MacGibbon to get sections A-C and D be removed. If not be
amended to read part of the fire equipment be left at fire in case fire arrived in village
at some time. Motion carried. Earl moved and Frank seconded a motion that E Specht be appointed
chairman for the month of July. Motion was carried.
