Action Requested
Approve, by motion, a contribution of $2,500 to Recharge MN to support Elk River’s EV Expo and Test Drive
Event.
Background/Discussion
The City of Elk River, along with other partners (Sherburne County, Elk River Municipal Utilities, Elk River Area
Chamber of Commerce, Initiative Foundation, and other local stakeholders), are working with the non-profit
Recharge MN to host an electric vehicle expo and test drive event in Elk River in early August.
This free event will be funded substantially by sponsorships and donations at the FT Center. This contribution of
$2,500 will help cover costs of the event and is also similar to a sponsorship in that the EDA would appear on
marketing materials and have a booth at the expo portion of the event.
Financial Impact
This $2,500 would be expensed from the Advertising/Marketing budget where $10,000 is planned for Energy City
Programs.
